I have three circumnavigations under sail. I give my crew members the aforementioned ginger, a couple of hours before setting sail, if they talk about being a victim of Sea sickness. Also, I advise that they keep an eye on the horizon as the infirmity seems to be related to the fact that your stomach, your eyes and your brain are not paying attention to the same inputs.
As with most sailing Sea sickness victims, after a few trips it subsides.
If you can, I feel that the others will agree--keep flying, eat ginger and look at the horizon as much as possible while, of course, paying due attention to your flying skills.
